Sanctuary

It's a quiet place,
Where the broken find refuge,
The lonely, communion
The weary, rest
The discouraged, hope.

Within its hallowed spaces
Are sacred moments,
Unexpected pauses in time
When the Divine supersedes the human
And life is changed.

Sometimes in small ways,
Sometimes radically.
Always with a knowing
That you've had audience with
Almighty God,
And will never the same again.
